Text and translations
Latin text
English translation
2:1 When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea, in the days of king Herod, some wise men came from the east to Jerusalem, 2 saying: Where is he who is born king of the Jews? Because we saw his star in the east and came to worship him. 3 Hearing this, king Herod was troubled and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And gathering all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he questioned them about where the Anointed should be born.
