Hints for Editing

1. Font Styles (anywhere):

  • ''Test text'' – Test text (italics)
  • '''Test text''' – Test text (bold)
  • <tt>Test text</tt>Test text (monospace font)
  • <big>Test text</big>Test text (bigger font)
  • T{{sc|est text}} – Test text (to make small capital letters)
    • Also, {{Lord}} makes Lord.
  • Test text - Test text (superscript)
  • Test text - Test text (subscript)
  • <center>Test text</center> -
    Test text (text centered in page or column)

2. Heading Styles (beginning of line):

Headings must be placed at the beginning of a line and are nested, using distinct font styles.

  • =Major page division= Very Large Font
  • ==Sections of page== Large Font
  • ===Subsections=== Medium Bold Font
  • ====Sub-subsection==== Small Bold Font
  • ====<big><big><big>Caveat!</big></big></big>====

Important cautionary point, still nested within a sub-section

Major page division

Sections of page

Subsections

Sub-subsection

Caveat!

3. Text Formatting (beginning of line):

  • {{Text|Language|<Text Text Text>}} – puts banner on first line, then Text Text Text on following lines.
  • {{Translation|Language|<Text Text Text>}} – puts banner on first line, then Text Text Text on following lines, but categorizes in Category:Translations instead of Category:Texts
  • {{Text|Simple|<Text Text Text>}} – omits banner, Text Text Text on second line.
  • Examples:
{{top}}
{{top}}
{{Text|Latin|

Hodie Salvator apparuit:
Hodie in terra canunt Angeli,
:laetantur Archangeli

{{Text|English|
Behold, the morning sun
Begins his glorious way;
His beams through all the nations run,
And life and light convey.
But where the gospel comes
It spreads diviner light;
It calls dead sinners from their tombs,
And gives the blind their sight.
How perfect is thy word!
And all thy judgments just!
For ever sure thy promise, Lord,
And men securely trust.
My gracious God, how plain
Are thy directions given!
O may I never read in vain,
But find the path to heaven!}}
{{mdl|3}}
{{Text|Simple|
I hear thy word with love,
And I would fain obey:
Send thy good Spirit from above
To guide me, lest I stray.
O who can ever find
The errors of his ways?
Yet with a bold, presumptuous mind
I would not dare transgress.
Warn me of every sin,
Forgive my secret faults,
And cleanse this guilty soul of mine,
Whose crimes exceed my thoughts.
While with my heart and tongue
I spread thy praise abroad,
Accept the worship and the song,
My Savior and my God.}}

English.png English text

Behold, the morning sun
Begins his glorious way;
His beams through all the nations run,
And life and light convey.

But where the gospel comes
It spreads diviner light;
It calls dead sinners from their tombs,
And gives the blind their sight.

How perfect is thy word!
And all thy judgments just!
For ever sure thy promise, Lord,
And men securely trust.

My gracious God, how plain
Are thy directions given!
O may I never read in vain,
But find the path to heaven!

I hear thy word with love,
And I would fain obey:
Send thy good Spirit from above
To guide me, lest I stray.

O who can ever find
The errors of his ways?
Yet with a bold, presumptuous mind
I would not dare transgress.

Warn me of every sin,
Forgive my secret faults,
And cleanse this guilty soul of mine,
Whose crimes exceed my thoughts.

While with my heart and tongue
I spread thy praise abroad,
Accept the worship and the song,
My Savior and my God.

4. Columns:

Basic format:
{{top}}
(A-Text or other commands)
{{middle|c}}   where c = number of columns; obviously needs to be c - 1 {{middle}} commands between {{top}} and {{bottom}}
(B-More text or commands) -- if this is a continuation of the last column, use {{Text|Simple|...}} rather than {{Text|<Language>}}
{{bottom}}
(See section "Text Formatting" above for examples.)

5. Hidden Text:

  • <!-- Text Not Visible -->
