English.png English text

1  Dashing through the snow,
In a one-horse open sleigh,
O'er the fields we go,
Laughing all the way.
Bells on bobtail ring,
Making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight.

R:  Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

2  A day or two ago
I thought I'd take a ride
And soon Miss Fanny Bright
Was seated by my side
The horse was lean and lank
Misfortune seemed his lot
We ran into a drifted bank
And there we got upsot.

3  A day or two ago
The story I must tell
I went out in the snow
And on my back I fell;
A gent was riding by
In a one horse open sleigh,
He laughed as there I sprawling lie,
But quickly drove away.

4  Now the ground is white
Go at it while you're young,
Take the girls tonight
And sing this sleighing song;
Just get a bob-tailed bay
Two forty as his speed
Hitch him to an open sleigh
And crack, you'll take the lead.

French.png French translation

Déboulant dans la neige
Dans un traîneau à cheval
Par les champs, nous allons
Riant tout le long du chemin
Les cloches sonnent à l'arrière
Faisant sourire les esprits
Quel plaisir de rire et de chanter
Une chanson de traîneau ce soir.

Sonnez cloches
Sonnez tout le long
Oh, quel plaisir de monter
Dans un traîneau à cheval.

Sonnez cloches
Oh entendez les cloches
Déboulant dans la neige
Il n'y a plus de peine
Quand on est dans un traîneau!

Chacun est tellement gai
On rit : Ah! Ah! Ah! tout du long
Les cloches sonnent à l'arrière
Ting et ding, Ting et ding, Ting et ding!
Déboulant dans la neige éclatante
Il fait moins dix degrés
Comme elles sonnent les cloches.
