Biography

John Travers was a choirboy at St. George's Chapel, WindsorLink to the English Wikipedia article and a pupil of Maurice Greene and Johann Christoph Pepusch. He was organist at several parish churches in London, including St. Paul's, Covent GardenLink to the English Wikipedia article (1727) and FulhamLink to the English Wikipedia article. He was appointed organist to the Chapel Royal in 1737 and remained in that post until his death in 1758.
