Latin.png Latin text

Musica diligitur: nam si quis spreverit illam,
Ostia conclavis tunc sibi clausa manent.
Nonne olim veteres cecinerunt atque poetae?
    Cantabant cytharis ut sequeremur eos.
Ergo noscetis modulamina quod studiosos
    Prorsus delectant ac simul ingenia.

English.png English translation

Music is loved.
To anyone who has spurned it, the doors of its chamber remain closed.
Did not men of yore and poets once sing?
They sang with lyres so that we might succeed them.
Thus will you know that melodies utterly delight both their students and their inventors.
