Life

Born: about 1512

Died: February 1559 in Brussels (WP:de); or after April 24 in Madrid (NG)

Biography

Payen was a choirboy in Charles V's capilla flamenca by 1525. In 1556 he succeeded Cornelius Canis as maestro de capilla. Surviving works number 12 motets and 5 chansons.
