O María, cláusus hórtus,
naufragántis múndi pórtus,
pláca nóbis qui te fécit,
mátrem síbi quam elégit.
Audi, vírgo glorífica,
post fílium spes única,
clémens et imperiósa:
nóstra déle maculósa,
accépta nóstra cántica,
impétra púlchra caélica.
Ave, décus virgíneum,
áve, júbar aethéreum:
ádsit praésens solémnitas,
nóbis pérpes jucúnditas:
túa námque venerátio
súmmis est gratulátio.

English.png English translation

O Mary, cloistered garden,
haven for a sinking world,
reconcile us with him who made you,
whom he chose to be his mother.
Hear, glorious virgin,
the only hope after the son,
gentle and mighty:
wipe out our blemishes,
receive our songs,
bring about heavenly beauties.
Hail, maidenly grace,
hail, celestial radiance,
let there be celebration,
eternal delight for us:
for surely reverence for you
is wishing joy for all.
