Proposed rename

The title of the work, as given in the page, is Cathedral Music, rather than Essential Cathedral Musick, and the former would appear to have continued to be used as the title in subsequent editions - a search for boyce "cathedral musick" on COPAC (as here) does not give any results, whereas boyce "cathedral music" gives the expected results for this work. Given this, and so that the composer name in the page title is consistent with Boyce's other works, I'd propose that this page be at Cathedral Music, Volume 1 (William Boyce), with the subsequent volumes 2 and 3 renamed accordingly. Seconded. The work appears as "Cathedral Music" in authoratative catalogues such as BUCEM; my own copy of the 2nd edition, supposedly prepared from the same frontispiece plate as the first, is titled "Cathedral Music"; E.C.Mk. appears to be an apocryphal title coined to avoid confusion with Arnold's "Cathedral Music", a solecism which should not be perpetuated.Cjshawcj 16:51, 6 June 2012 (CDT)

....and (as a later afterthought): in the lists of contents, Boyce's "key of X of the lesser third" should not be translated as X minor, but as the respective mode, e.g. Dorian (Bevin) and Aeolian (Farrant). This has created ambiguation and double-counting on Bevin's composer page.Cjshawcj 17:28, 6 June 2012 (CDT)

Speaking (typing?) as the person who added these three pages over the last few days, the name problem has been niggling me more than somewhat. In my case, I was simply following the title on the binding of the works, and also the catalogue of the Chained Library music created in about 1988. This fed into a database held on my own computer for other purposes, which was able, with a little spreadsheet fiddling, to generate most of the code needed for the pages. it was only part way through the process of adding links to composer pages that I realised that nowhere in the volumes does "Essential" and "..k" occur! Given the number of links that now exist, is this a job for an automated process? Peter Gibson 16:52, 7 June 2012 (CDT)
Peter, we have a [ro]bot for such automated tasks, but in this case I believe that the Special:ReplaceText extension will do it fine. I'm also in favor of using "William Boyce" as the composer name in the title. As soon as the pages are renamed I'll run the script to correct the links for you. —Carlos Email.gif 23:29, 7 June 2012 (CDT)
Carlos, Page renaming: is that one for me? Peter Gibson 16:46, 8 June 2012 (CDT)
Carlos, Time to set the (ro)bots to work ;) Peter Gibson 17:07, 8 June 2012 (CDT)
Hi Peter, since you were the creator of the pages, I reserved for you the privilege of renaming them :) The links are now fixed. Best, —Carlos Email.gif 22:06, 8 June 2012 (CDT)
