I am a retired college music theory and composition professor and composer. I hold BM (theory/ composition ) and MMEd degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, a PhD degree in theory from the Eastman School of Music, and the Choirmaster cetificate from the American Guild of Organists. My principle composition teachers were Kent Kennan and Wayne Barlow. I taught at Keuka College ( New York ), Alaska Methodist University ( now Pacific Lutheran University ) and McNeese State University ( Louisiana ).

I have approximately 80 published compositions- choral compositions, organ pieces, chamber music, and orchestral compositions. My publishers include Shawnee Press, Kjos Music, Cantus Quercus, Alcove Music, Brassworks4, Harrock Hall Music, and others. Score and audio samples are available at some of these.

My unpublished works ( can be obtained from the composer ) include works for piano, two ballets, "The Prospector ", and " Evangeline ", four masses in English, a cantata " The Temple ", for soloists,SATB, brass, and timpani, and a comic opera.

My style is tonal, often influenced by modal and synthetic scales and jazz elements. I enjoy most writing on commission.
