General Information

Title: Beatam me dicent II
Composer: Francisco Valls

Number of voices: 12vv Voicing: SSAT.SATB.SATB
Genre: Sacred, Motet

Language: Latin
Instruments: Continuo
Published: 1742

Description: From "Mapa Armonico Practico", facsimile manuscript including this score published by Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas. Score included as an example, with another motet "Beata quae credidisti", of "musica desatada y libre" ("loose and free music"). One of two settings of "Beatam me dicent" in the "Mapa". The other, to a slightly different text, is also available on CPDL.

Facsimile unclear in places (especially bars 19 and 20, first choir) owing to poor reproduction and ink apparently penetrating the paper from the obverse side of each page.
