A technical question

What is it that keeps workpages from displaying? At present Cantata BWV 167, Ihr Menschen, rühmet Gottes Liebe (Johann Sebastian Bach) shows as a subcategory of Baptism. Would the Sheetmusic cat. make it go away, assuming music files are added at some point? Richard Mix 00:41, 27 January 2011 (CST)

Hi Richard, the page you give as example should in fact be deleted: it has no editions at all, and in these cases it was decided not to keep just the text. With respect to your question, you're right: this work is being displayed here because it lacks the Sheet music category. —Carlos Email.gif 03:21, 27 January 2011 (CST)
Belated thanks, and a related question about Tenebrae responsories, which shows as a subcategory of Holy Week but doesnt really fit into the calendar scheme. How could it be in Holy Week without displaying here? Richard Mix 00:09, 10 March 2011 (CST)
Richard, I'm not sure I understood your question. Which category exactly do you think Tenebrae responsories should be under? Sacred music? (not "by season", as you say it doesn't fit into the calendar scheme) —Carlos Email.gif 08:17, 10 March 2011 (CST)
I'm trying to say that Tenebrae responsories should be a subcategory of Holy Week (which is when they are used), but that "Sacred music by season" should display Lent/Holy Week/Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday: that is, subdivisions of seasons rather than every subcategory. Hope that makes sense! Richard Mix 04:22, 11 March 2011 (CST)
I think I figured out what Richard means: he wishes to exclude "Tenebrae responsories" from the DPL listing on this page. Assuming this is true, I've already added the appropriate "nottitlematch" line to the code. – Chucktalk Giffen 07:39, 11 March 2011 (CST)
Yes, that was it: thanks! Does one just add more "notitlematch=" lines for other seasonal genres? Richard Mix 15:45, 11 March 2011 (CST)

Calendar of Saints

If you're not tired ;-) one more request: in liturgical books the dates of the Christmas cycle are taken for granted, but saints' days include the date. Is there a way to have these appear next to Immaculate Conception, &c here, without moving pages to Immaculate Conception (Dec. 8) &c? Richard Mix 23:36, 11 March 2011 (CST)

Hi Richard, I can't think of an easy way to do it without including the date in the title as well, sorry! —Carlos Email.gif 18:07, 12 March 2011 (CST)
I just did something that is close to what Richard wants, although it lists the date of observance below the category name (in an include statement). I'm not entirely satisfied with the implementation, though, thinking we might replace Template:Observed with a template that does nothing yet is included in these categories somewhere just to be able to capture the date(s) of observance. – Chucktalk Giffen 23:25, 12 March 2011 (CST)
That was an interesting solution. I agree though that if the dates could be displayed in the same line as the category name it would be slightly better. —Carlos Email.gif 12:09, 13 March 2011 (CDT)
Still pretty nice! Thanks. Richard Mix 21:37, 21 March 2011 (CDT)

Passiontide, and sub-subcategories

Another seasonal genre (as opposed to a season proper) is Passions, which I guess should be in Lent as well as Passiontide, which contains Lent V as well as Palm Sunday & Holy Week. The heirarchy of subcategories gets a bit involved here! How do we code for this? Richard Mix 21:37, 21 March 2011 (CDT) I've added "notitlematch=Passions" without apparent result, and removed Category:Lent to keep Palm Sunday from appearing twice, but the ordering Passiontide| 02 has moved it to after Ash Wednesday...
