Number of voices: 3vv   Voicing: SAT

Genre: SecularMotet

Languages: Latin, Greek, Hebrew

Published:

Description: Transcribed from the Trent manuscript tr87. The keys, notes' values, accidentals and colourings are as in the manuscript. The time signature is missing, the “tempus perfectum” has been assumed from the context. The Tenor is in canon with the Superius as is prescripted: “Motetus iste de se facit tenorem fugando tria tempora et accipiendo in diezeugmenon”. The notes' values within the "ligaturæ" are as follows: the left upstemmed notes are semibreves - the unstemmed notes are breves – te right downstemmed notes are longæ. The “musica ficta” suggestions are in the MIDI and MusicXML files.

Chomos condrosi cephas queo sic nominari
Et kyrio fundo karitos clerosque decoro,
vitando cacon varros ast expleor aleph;
non sum lugubra cenon ares quoque neuma
ammone crisim non delubra, sed fugo feron chata
pagos bares paradysus mis quoque nomen,
ve loculus vere fartus digna bonitate
mersus pusillus, hic vectus fit cito sanus.
