There are a number of reasons a page could be protected to prevent non-admins from editing. It may be that the page is a frequent spam target, or it is a page which, if changed maliciously, could have a strong negative impact on CPDL, such as the [[Main Page]] or one of the ubiquitous templates such as [[Template:Legend]]. There are a number of reasons a page could be protected to prevent non-admins from editing. It may be that the page is a frequent spam target, or it is a page which, if changed maliciously, could have a strong negative impact on CPDL, such as the Main Page or one of the ubiquitous templates such as Template:Legend. If you wish to make an edit to a page which has been protected, please make a request for it to be unprotected at the Bulletin Board.
