One (at least) is deceptive: if you clicked the "edit" link next to a greyed-out header that read "Text and translations (to be added later)", the wiki software thinks that you were trying to edit the template that generated that greyed-out header, rather than the texts and translations themselves. If this is the case, go back to that page, scroll up to the top and click the "edit this page" tab, then scroll to near the bottom of the edit box.  See also [[Help:How_can_I_add_a_text_or_translation]] if you've never done this before.

There are a number of reasons a page could be protected to prevent non-admins from editing. It may be that the page is a frequent spam target, or it is a page which, if changed maliciously, could have a strong negative impact on CPDL, such as the Main Page or one of the ubiquitous templates such as Template:Legend. If you wish to make an edit to a page which has been protected, please make a request for it to be unprotected at the Bulletin Board.
