Title: Magnificat (tr87) I
Composer: Anonymous
Number of voices: 3vv Voicing: SAT
(a number of the verses are for two equal voices)
Genre: Sacred, Evening Canticles
Language: Latin
Instruments: a cappella
Published: Trent 87, copied between 1433-1445
Description: Alternatim setting transcribed from the Trent manuscript tr87. The keys and the notes' values are as in the manuscript. The initial time signature is missing in both the voices, the “tempus perfectum” has been assumed from the context, and the perfect notes are dotted. To perform this Magnificat following the Tenor prescription “Faulx bourdon”, the Superius has been treansposed an octave higher. The notes' values within the "ligaturæ" are as follows: the left upstemmed notes are semibreves - the unstemmed notes are breves. The “musica ficta” suggestions are in the MIDI and MusicXML files.
