Title: Magnificat octavi toni

Number of voices: 4vv Voicings: SATB or SAAT
Genre: Sacred, Evening Canticles
Language: Latin
Instruments: A cappella. The opening intonation has accompaniment for "bajón", maybe dulcian
Published: in Eslava's Lira sacra Hispana (mid 19c)
Description: a Magnificat showing the influence of Morales, who was the composer's original choirmaster. There is a canon in the "Gloria" section and the intention clearly was that the omitted even verses should be either sung in plainchant or played on the organ.
