General Information

Title: Missa tertii toni
Composer: Rodrigo de Ceballos

Number of voices: 4vv   Voicing: SATB

Number of voices: 4vv   Voicing: SAAT

Genre: SacredMass

Language: Latin
Instruments: a cappella
Published: Not known

Description: A four part mass, edited from what is probably an 18th Century manuscript copy of the work. There is no Benedictus, either because there never was one, or, more likely, because by the Baroque period in Spain and Latin America the Benedictus was usually sung to a plain setting, so the original Benedictus may have been omitted. Some sections (e.g. the Kyrie) are suitable for SATB voices, others, e.g. the Gloria are suited for SAAT.
