Edition notes: Based on #957. The first verse, O gladsome light, is missing and has been added here. Some minor alterations to the underlay have been made to fit the emphasis of the words. The tenor part is high, so it could be sung as SSAAB. Includes a keyboard reduction of the a cappella choral score.

1. O gladsome light, O grace
   Of God the Father's face,
   The eternal splendour wearing;
   Celestial, holy, blest,
   Our Saviour Jesus Christ,
   Joyful in thine appearing.

2. Now, ere day fadeth quite,
   We see the evening light,
   Our wonted hymn outpouring;
   Father of might unknown,
   Thee, his incarnate Son,
   and Holy Spirit adoring.

3. To thee of right belongs
   All praise of holy songs,
   O Son of God, Lifegiver;
   Thee, therefore, O Most High,
   The world doth glorify,
   And shall exalt for ever.
