More than once per page bug?

I tried to add 2 links with different targets to Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott, BWV 80 (Johann Sebastian Bach) but something seems to be wrong. Richard Mix (talk) 21:49, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

It was just a typo: WIkipediaLink. —Carlos (talk) 22:10, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
And since we're at it: what do you like the most?
  1. View the Wikipedia article on BWV 80.
  2. View the Wikipedia article on BWV 80.
  3. View the Wikipedia article on BWV 80.
  4. BWV 80: Article on Wikipedia.
—And what about italicizing the title as in #2? Carlos (talk) 22:25, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, I guess I'm ready for new eyeglasses!
No. 3 is an improvement, and more consistent with IMSLP2. I've been piping the BWV number only so that there's less distraction from the blue linked part; maybe ideally:
I tried interesting Chuck in a Template:Bach that would add all 4 links; is it worthwhile? Richard Mix (talk) 01:01, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
Your suggestion above would be ideal, but there's no way of italicizing just part of the title without employing some sort of trick (or repeating the whole title, as you did).
As for the Bach template, I like the idea, but we may face some problems: IMSLP and Wikipedia use the whole title of the cantata, but even a minor spelling difference such as a comma would render one of the links broken. How to deal with that? Let's take the case you used as example:
  • {{JSB|Der Himmel lacht! Die Erde jubilieret|31}}
should produce the four links you suggest. But notice that for the IMSLP link, die Erde does not begin with a lower case as it should, and the link will not work.

Since I've been hand-linking anyway so far, I haven't been bothering to create IMSLP redirect pages; it seems to me that would work around the problem, though. Richard Mix (talk) 07:02, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Oh sure, creating redirects (either on Wikipedia's or on IMSLP's side) is a fine workaround. It would be even easier to automate the whole thing if we had pages such as BWV 80 redirecting to the proper article on both sites! But that's a lot of extra work. For Bach I guess around 5% might be affected; if Paolo should decide to submit all of Giacchino/Giachino Rossini's operas I wouldn't wish to do it by hand! Since the JSB be cantatas are 2/3 done, my biggest immediate wish would be for a template:BWV|nnn to go back and add *[http://www.bach-cantatas.com/BWVnnn.htm Bach-cantatas site, with links to libretto and translations]. without asking me to pass a Turing test. lang= bug?

I'm getting an "Unrecognised language code " error at Wilhelm Gerhard, and (incidentally?) notice the template documentation displays "View the German Wikipedia article on WikipediaLink" instead of Engelhardt. Richard Mix (talk) 22:27, 16 October 2018 (UTC)

a funny "Unrecognised language code" at Giovanni Andrea Cima too. Richard Mix (talk) 21:46, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
And again "View the Unrecognised language code Wikipedia article on Johann Balthasar Erben. (English translation by Google)" Richard Mix (talk) 19:45, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
