General Information

Title: Ye shall find rest
Composer: Maggie Furtak
Lyricist:

Number of voices: 4vv   Voicing: SATB
Genre: SacredAnthem

Language: English
Instruments: Organ

First published: 2015
Description:  I have provided accompaniment for this piece, for those days when you only have one tenor, but it works equally well a cappella. The organ/piano part doubles the vocal parts and adds an occasional flourish, but the vocal parts were written as a stand-alone piece first, and work beautifully independently. The optional solo in the middle can be sung by an alto or a tenor, or all altos. A calm, restful anthem, all parts stick to the heart of the vocal range and there are no difficult rhythms or harmonies. Many convenient commas to breathe at. Enjoy, and may you all feel well rested. Feedback is always appreciated!

Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Psalm 37:7
Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.
