Biography

Henry Davan Wetton was born in Brighton, England. He received his musical training at Westminster Abbey and his music degree from Durham University. He was a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and was assistant to Sir Frederick Bridge at Westminster Abbey. He held various organist positions including Christ Church, Woburn Square; St. Gabriel’s, Pimlico; and Well’s Cathedral. He was organist and director of the choir of the Foundling Hospital, London, conductor of the choir of the People’s Palace (Mile End Road, E.), head of the music department at the Northampton Institute (Clerkenwell), and examiner at Trinity College (London). His compositions include sacred works, services, anthems, carols, songs, organ works, and piano pieces.
