English text
O Mary had a little lamb,
It’s fleece was white as snow;
And every where that Mary went,
The lamb was sure to go;
It followed her to school one day,
But that was ’gainst the rule;
It made the children laugh and play,
To see the lamb at school.
And so the teacher turned it out,
But still it lingered near,
And waited patiently about
Till Mary did appear.
And then it went to her and laid
Its head upon her upon her arm,
As if to, to say, “I’m not a, not afraid,
You’ll keep me, me from all, me from all harm.”
The lamb grew old and contrary,
With fleece as white as snow;
And everywhere that Mary went,
The lamb, it would not go.
It would not follow her, one day,
She whipped it for a spell;
The family had it fried, next day,
And it just went very well!
