English text
See, the moon is shining brightly,
Silver rays she spreads around,
Over hedge, and bush, and bramble,
With a beauty so profound.
See the lake, like silver shining,
Glorious bursts upon the view;
We behold, with joy and gladness,
Beauties rare, and ever new.
How we joy with heartfelt feeling,
Holy yearnings fill our breast;
Heavenly love o’er all is beaming,
All around breathes peace and rest.
Let us then unite in singing
To the moon our sweetest strains,
Over all her beauty flinging,
She to cheer us ever deigns.
