O God of truth and Lord of pow'r
Whose word their course to things assign.
Whose splendor lights the morning hour,
Whose firey sun at noonday shines.

Within us quench the flames of strife,
the harmful heat of passion quell;
give health of body to our life
and give true peace of soul as well.

In this, most loving Father, hear, and Christ,
coequal Son, our pray'r: with Holy Ghost,
on Trinity, you reign for all eternity.
Amen.
